Kyle McAlarney is fast becoming one of my favorite players in college basketball.
The Notre Dame senior point guard by way of Staten Island, New York (yes, I said STATEN ISLAND) home of the rap group Wu-Tang Clan!

My hard-working assistant Brian passed along a preview from Sports Illustrated back on November 18 on the up coming college basketball season and I just finished reading about Notre Dame. (Sorry but I can’t find the online link)
McAlarney was a popular figure on the Fighting Irish’ tour of Ireland back in August. In the SI piece, McAlraney talked about his new passion for the game. During the trip he spent time reading Pistol: The Life of Pete Maravich.
What drew him to Maravich, the piece said was not Pistol’s fancy passes, but Maravich’s obsession with the game.
“Maravich used to be in the gym for nine hours a day doing ball handling and shooting drills. I just love his approach to the game.”
PLAY THE RIGHT WAY!
