Track Trash - Deetroit

‘No grip’ yada yada.

‘Save fuel’ yada yada.

‘Oooops’……

GM: What a turn-around from years past. Instead of racing in Michigan to showcase the Big Three manufacturers, thanks to our gracious President and his Democratic dweebs in Congress, this year we can cheer our own Government Motors to the winners circle. Yes, whether you are a died in the wool Ford or Chrysler fan, we all now own a piece of GM, and will be owning it for quite some time.

Track Trash - Track Trash – Picanos… any nose

Another good race. Say….maybe this COT isn’t as bad as they say it is. I hate fuel races, but this one had some pizzazz to it, and the fans loved it.

More drugs: NA$CAR put the whammy on JerryMaybefield. They counter sued him. Each driver has a contract with NA$CAR, and they must report if they are taking a prescription drug. Sorta looks like NA$CAR’s deep pockets have whomped poor Jerry over da head with a sledge hammer. Like I said a few weeks ago, Jerry oughta pack it in, open a Subway shop, and get on with his life. At this point, there is NO WAY that a potential sponsor would want to associate themselves with this team.

New Vauxhall Insignia

Have been seeing ads about the new Vauxhall Insignia everywhere on the net. In continental Europe, it is sold as the Opel Insignia. It was unveiled at the British motor show in 2008.

Recently voted as Car of the Year 2009, it has also achieved a five-star adult occupant rating and four stars for child protection and two stars for pedestrian protection (the highest so far in it's category) from Euro NCAP.

Tommy Baldwin Takes Risk and Forms Own Cup Team

Tommy Baldwin rises from the ashes of the economic fire that hit NASCAR at the end of the season and starts his own team while other owners are down-sizing their teams and staff, merging together other teams, or pleading guilty to tax fraud.
In my opinion Baldwin is either one shrewd business man or he is a few fries short of a Happy Meal for trying to do this during these economic times - but then again this is coming from a guy who is seriously considering buying stock in General Motors so if Baldwin is a few fries short I must be missing the whole freakin' meal deal myself.

The Difference Between Toyota and Genreal Motors Management Models

Toyota

General Motors

And we wonder why GM needs a Federal Government bail-out and Toyota doesn't.

I'm Sorry Rob But I Disagree

I have a subscription to Hot Rod Magazine. I know it's not NASCAR by any means, but I'm a car guy not just a NASCAR guy.

I like Hot Rod, it is one of the few magazines that I literally read from cover to cover. Editor Rob Kinnan and his crew do a great job with it each month.
A long time ago I gave up my subscription to Hot Rod because it wasn't what it should have been, could have been, or once was. To me it felt like it lost its focus then, but now its back and is better than it has been in many years - that is why I finally started to subscribe to it again after nearly 20 yrs.

Audi and Honda Motorsports Announcements Plus a Little Bit More

This just in from the Associated Press:

"FRANKFURT, Germany - Audi says it is pulling out of the American Le Mans Series after nine years.
Audi motor sports chief Wolfgang Ullrich said Friday the German car maker wanted to concentrate on Europe "in these difficult economic times."
The announcement comes on the same day that Honda said it was pulling out of Formula One, as car makers around the world battle with massive drops in sales amid the global financial downturn.
Audi cars have won nine straight LMP1 class championships.

6,000 Camaros ordered so far, 84% with V8

Autoblog is reporting that “Chevrolet has reportedly taken more than 6,000 orders for its new Camaro so far…” and that “84% of orders have been for V8-powered SS models so far, which may mean a longer wait for delivery since GM is likely building a very different ratio of V8 to V6 models.”
